Our sacramental preparation program for High School Candidates will begin in January of 2017, preparing for Confirmation in the Spring of 2018. Over the course of fifteen months students in 9th, 10th and 11th grades will meet once a month on Monday nights to break open the sacrament. Each session will help the candidates see how Confirmation increases and deepens the grace of baptism, strengthens the candidates bond with the Church and enter into a more intimate knowing of the Holy Spirit, His gifts and fruits.
As with our other sacramental preparation programs this program is intended to focus on the immediate catechesis for the sacrament the candidates are preparing to receive. To ensure that those going through the sacramental prep program are ready for this short instruction, the Diocese of St. Augustine, asks that two years of Religious Education (remote preparation) precede the reception of Confirmation. At St. Augustine our current Religious Education program stops at the eighth grade; however, we do have a High School Youth Group that we encourage our candidates to attend which has a strong religious educational content.
Who is eligible to enroll in this program?

For those participating in the High School Confirmation program the main catechist is the Sacramental Prep Coordinator. To help with small groups and more direct interactions we also have college volunteers who willingly give of their time and energy. Being a Student Center we are blessed to have many University and College student volunteers. All of our catechists meet regularly with the Sacramental Prep Coordinator and go through catechist training.
