Parish Service Program
The Parish Council presented the Ten Year Strategic Plan on May 1, 2013. One of the four pillars of the strategic plan is service. The Council established a list of goals for the service pillar based on the social teachings of the Catholic Church, Vatican II documents, and the parish survey. Fulfilling those goals is the mission of the service program. Click here to view the service goals.
A major goal of the service program, and the purpose of this webpage, is to help parishioners find volunteer opportunities in the parish, the community, and beyond.
How You Can Participate
Join the service committee. Committee members attend meetings to develop the service program and to plan and participate in service projects. Contact Rosanne Cottone at email@example.com or 517-974-2235. For student service projects, contact Silvio Martinez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join our Go-To Team. We are building a list of parishioners who want to receive occasional information about special or urgent service opportunities. See the sign-up form for details.
Watch for information about volunteer opportunities in the church bulletin, the parish events calendar on this site's homepage, pulpit announcements, Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/StAugustineService), and here on the service ministry webpage.
In our Profiles of Community Agencies you can browse possibilities for ongoing volunteer opportunities in our community. Each profile tells you something about the purpose of the organization and the population it serves, type of volunteer work, requirements for volunteers, and contact information.
