Public Masses have resumed! As we return to our regular Mass schedule, please be aware of the following safety guidelines put into place by our bishop:
- A general dispensation from Sunday Mass will remain. If you are sick or at high risk for serious complications from airborne viruses, please stay home and watch the Mass livestreamed from the parish. If you are homebound and would like to have communion brought to you, please contact the office and we will attempt to send a Communion minister to you. (Please note that this will require us to have more of our Communion ministers step up to assist in this ministry.)
- Physical distancing will limit seating availability for Mass. At St. Augustine, we will only use every other pew. Ushers will assist in seating you to make sure we are appropriately spaced apart.
- Masks or suitable face coverings are required to attend Mass. We will not be able to provide them, so please bring your own from home. Masks must be worn at all times except at the moment of consuming holy Communion.
- Holy water fonts will remain empty. If you are in need of holy water, please let a staff person or priest know.
- Worship aids and hymnals will be removed and unavailable. You may bring your own missal or use your phone to follow along with the readings and the Mass.
- Holding hands during the Our Father--which was never called for by the Roman Missal--will no longer be permitted.
- Shaking hands at the sign of peace will be omitted or replaced at the priest celebrant’s discretion.
- Holy Communion will only be distributed in the form of the host and will be received on the hand only. Reception of Holy Communion on the tongue is suspended at this time. Gloves must be removed in order to receive Holy Communion.
We have access to our parking garage! If you are coming to the church, you can park for free in the garage (see map to the right for how to access it). You simply need to put a bulletin on your dashboard so the security guard knows not to tow your car. Please note the garage is only available for use if you are coming to the church for a meeting, event, or liturgy,
