My name is Fr. Nicholas Bennett, but you can call me Fr. Nick! I was born and grew up in Jacksonville, FL to my two loving parents Randy and Janice, who first showed me the great faith of our Church. My home parish is St. Joseph’s in Mandarin. I received my calling to the priesthood while at my Confirmation Mass at St. Joseph’s, but failed to say yes to the Lord until a Steubenville retreat I attended in High School. I went to St. Joseph’s Catholic School through middle school, and then attended Bishop Snyder High School, where my faith continued to grow. After high school, I attended Florida State University for three years where my faith flourished and was influenced by the Brotherhood of Hope, a religious order stationed there at FSU.
After three years of studies, fun, and discernment at FSU, I transferred to St. John Vianney College Seminary where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. After graduation, I continued my seminary formation at St. Vincent de Paul Regional seminary. I was ordained May 4, 2019 after 7 years of seminary formation.
I love going to the gym and competing in powerlifting competitions, fishing, and golfing. I also have been known to play ultimate frisbee and softball! I look forward to meeting you at the Church.
